Amy Dexter's Images

For as far back as I can remember I've needed to create. I was going to be a dancer, or an actor, a writer, something. I could never quite decide what though. So I took classes, and I wrote, and performed. And through it all, I had a camera in my hand. I wasn't taking pictures for artistic merit, in fact for some reason I never even thought of my photography as a form of art. I was just taking pictures for me, of things I knew I would want to see again and again. I had no concept of f-stops, or shutter speeds, of any of the technical stuff really. I just always used a point and shoot, I thought all cameras were like that. I was a happy, albeit ignorant, little shutterbug. Then I was upgraded to a digital, still a p&s, but it had all these extra buttons and some strange dial thing. All of a sudden a whole new door opened. I still take pictures for me and I still have much to learn, but so many people here on the net have given me wonderful advice and have helped me improve in many ways.
