Kristine’s paintings are created of rich layers of color, often laden with objects and text that may portray hidden meaning or simply help state a less obvious meaning in the color or composition of the piece. These layers draw the viewer in to explore her paintings beyond the first impression. Some of her paintings have a high gloss, candy coat that urge the viewer to touch them. Real texture and perceived texture co mingle as she bridges the gap between painting and the tactile nature of sculpture. Her paintings are definitely delicious to both the eye and the fingertips.

Kristine found her home here in Phoenix over 20 years ago after moving from Colorado with a degree in Art Education. Arriving late December, the market for Art Teachers was slim to none, so she was fortunate to land a job with a local design and fabrication firm in January of 1985. There she learned how to read blueprints, build architectural scale models, and gained a vast knowledge of different materials ranging from foams to fiber optics. As she grew with the company Kris also gained many important management skills and people skills that have helped her to market herself as an artist.

Currently she is self employed as an artist, utilizing her knowledge and fabrication skills in welding and clay and wood, but primarily her passion is expressed in color.
