Dance Studio Theatre is the public performance space of the Department of Dance at Arizona State University. Each semester, the ASU Dance Department, recognized as one of the top ten dance programs in the nation, puts on a number of formal and informal performances for a public audience. Presented works are selected through an adjudication process and feature the work of acclaimed guest artists, faculty and students.

Working alongside solid instruction in a variety of cultural forms, the main thrust of the ASU dance department is modern dance. While dedicated to the development of performers, choreographers and educators, the dance program also encourages and fosters exploration in new, diverse and creative directions key to the development of dance in the future.

Along with providing a space for professional and emerging artists, the program’s public performances showcase the culmination of the work of ASU dancers in all levels of their education and development.
