ARTIST's Statement

Frequently, I find myself contemplating an observation attributed to Pablo Picasso.

"We produce little which is truly original during our first ten years as an artist. And then, we spend the rest of our careers developing those early visions_inspirations_ and perceptions, which drove us to this magical & insane profession."

For this Artist, at least, the observation rings true. However, in a thousand years I could never catch up with the constantly evolving visions, and perceptions I yearn to express.

I view each work as a part of the development toward an undefined objective. Regardless of it's success or failure, It's the journey which is mandatory.

And, when a piece succeeds / when it speaks to the viewer / my courage is renewed.

ABOUT the ARTIST

As a young artist in the 60's & 70's, I had no clue how to market my work.
I was literally 'starving' so I transfered my skills to 'architectural design' and rendering.

Though creatively and financially gratifying, my Architectural endevors simply weren't sufficient
to keep the 'Fine Artist' in me from pounding at my soul until, finally, I realized there was no option
but to persue that inner voice to it's fullest.

The journey can be painful & sometimes frightening, but the rewards are beyond description.
Without doubt, I am fully commited. There is no 'Looking Back'.
