J Timothy (Tim) Dotson

I used to be one of the Central Avenue Irregulars at the Hub Building in the studios and gallery basement there in the mid nineties...hoping to find some artist and poet friends I used to know down there. I paint and sculpt and write short stories and poetry...and a large array of other types of art as well. Always interested in new techniques to apply to forms I already know. I will add shots of my current works here soon. (Some have been added)
I happen to believe in tolerance, especially in the arts...avant garde is not the only legitimate art form, but one of my favorites. Installations are interesting ways to get really out there (a really cool way!)...but no one yet has developed the seminal artform that everyone must rely on or subscribe to. There are posers who think so...but I think there is room for everyone - (and everything) at least until the definitive painting is finally done. Then we can all quit.
Up to that point, I plan to paint or do whatever art I feel like for whatever reason I deem fit. You should too. Art nazis notwithstanding...
I keep hoping to see another cutting edge, front line art movement...but that has not really happened for a while. It would be really nice to see something revolutionary and brand new. Maybe I will just have to create it myself, huh? I can try...
(Some paintings shown are not for sale (some now are), but I will do comparable ones by request...contact me for prices. Most frames are my work also. Requests and commisions are a bit extra of course if cutsom work is required)
