Dualing Eyepposites

Born much smaller than I am today, I showed creative talents as a child, but it wasn’t until I was 33 that I began to draw seriously.
I use either color or graphite pencil. My originals are lighter in color than the prints on this website because I use mostly hard-lead pencils, which yield muted colors, but allow me to draw quite detailed images.
Since my materials are simple and the size of my original pieces are compact, I work right out of my home, which I share with my lovely and talented wife-to-be, Tara.
If you look closely at any one of my prints on this website, you'll see the little puzzle pieces that make up most or all of the drawing. The creation of each puzzle piece is improvised as it takes on the shape of the others around it. The drawing progresses into a collage, filled with tiny, disparate images, making it easy to have a new experience every time the artwork is viewed. I call this method, “Themeless Process.”
Creating these stream-of-consciousness collages is an act of meditation…a source of intuition and relaxation. I hope that these drawings somehow assist the viewer in their own journey to the very source of themselves.
