"I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want to own." -Andy Warhol

I play jazz trumpet, as well as several West African percussive instruments, namely jembe and sabar drums. I am interested in studying ethnomusicology, and am particularly fascinated by music as a source of identity and also community. My academic research at the moment is primarily focused on African music in the African American community, and I would like to expand my research area to include certain forms of American popular music, especially rock and punk.

I have really diverse taste and consider myself an uplifting gormandizer of music, which means that I'm always attempting to expand my musical and creative horizons.
