Award Winning Artist and Writer
Recently received an award from the Phoenix Center of the Arts for artwork submitted in the Vibes show February 2008. Received the inaugural online media award from the Arizona Association of Black Journalists, for the article Passing Through Many Doors; The Lost Boys of Sudan. Also received award from the Arizona Press Women at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on article about the Black Women’s Task Force.

Artist Statement
“A curious mix of ancient wisdom and cutting edge thinking. Natural forms call out to me because they leave the most to my imagination”
It is what it is. Art awakens the senses. First you fast with your eyes and then a stir to your soul and you reach out to touch it. When my work fulfills these desires then I have accomplished an illusion of art. I explore various mediums, taking every day objects and examining them for their design elements. There is art everywhere we look. I capture the visual, express the feeling and release it back into the universe, to hopefully inspire someone else to see things from another point of view and to awaken within them the desire to create their own visions, to continue the cycle of art.
