After 9/11, i was always expecting to look up into the air and see a jet flying accross the sky only to blow up before my eyes. It didnt help that I lived in the flight path of San francisco airport. This piece is a direct response to the planes flying into a couple of very large buildings on 9/11/01. I thought I would just paint a virgin piece. Something i like doing more out of devotion or meditation than to search out an image rumaging around my head. Only this time I had just finished a couple of pieces regarding the major event on 9/11. Of course, when searching for a reason the virgin was gazing up to the sky. I came up with an airplane.
