For this piece I wanted to capture the look of the volcanic rock found along the shores of Puerto Rico where this petroglyph can be seen today. Here, the petroglyphs made by the Taino Indians, exposed the rich, black color of the lava beneath, while the outside remained covered by thousands of years of exposure to the ocean and salty air.
