These original drawings ( some thousands of years old ) were made by the Aboriginal people using only natural pigments dug from the earth. Hundreds of these beautifully colored fish can be found throughout the hill country of western Arnhem Land along side images of humans, crocodiles, turtles and other animals of significance to the Aboriginal people. Many of these images are spiritual in nature and some are thought to be so powerful that outsiders are not aloud to even view them.
