Sienna Morris

I am an artist and designer, fairly new to the Phoenix area. I've recently returned from three strange and exciting years in Southern China. When I moved to Phoenix in the summer of 2008, I started my series, "Perpetual Motions" using a new technique I call Numberism.

I returned to an America that was rife with stress, worry, low quality of life and anxiety. Myself and those around me were consumed with fears relating to money, time and mounting responsibility. Obsessed with time and the worry that I had misused it as well as the worry that I might yet again waist it in the future, I began a series based on time and the notion of living in the moment. Each piece attempts to capture a moment in it's entirety, using the numbers of the clock to express the presence of time and it's fluidity. Each piece features a moment in our lives we would naturally cling to and experience fully as it happens so as to try to remind us to address every moment this way. My hope is to remind myself and anyone is drawn to these works to find a way to cherish their memories but live in the now.

Each piece is drawn entirely with the numbers of the clock.
